2023-2024 Northwest Celebrates New Soccer Pitch
Northwest Boys Soccer Team Comes in First!
The Northwest boys soccer team went undefeated for the fall 2023 season. In November, they played against Hillside Middle School for the championship. The team won decisively with a 2-0 score! Warriors took charge by scoring the initial goal in the first ten minutes. Angel Silva set up the goal with a corner kick with Abdul Shire taking the header! Keeper, Noe Martinez, showed his skill by blocking three hard shots by Hillside. Northwest's three defenders, Alexis Camargo, Ahmed Haji, and Kevin Montelongo, kept the ball pushed up field with assists by the midfielders. Without success, Hillside kept lobbing the ball towards the goal hoping something would roll past Keeper Martinez. Center, Miguel Vargas, helped control the flow of the match by offering both offensive and defensive support. Striker, Angel Silva, scored the final goal in the last two minutes of the game. Give these soccer players a high five along with their coaches Vincent and Pail!
