Sayre Posey, SLCSD’s 2025 Teacher of the Year
We are excited to share that Sayre Posey, 8 grade U.S. History teacher, received Salt Lake School District’s Teacher of the Year award. Ms. Posey is an outstanding teacher who goes above and beyond for her students. Ms. Posey has students participate in historical enactments, resulting in increased student engagement and learning. Ms. Posey’s Extended Learning Program (ELP) students competed in National History Day. Nine of the 16 students qualified for the District competition, with six students qualifying for State. Ms. Posey fosters a supportive environment where students feel valued and motivated to excel. Her dedication to maintaining high standards and building strong relationships empowers students to surpass expectations and achieve success. Congratulations, Ms. Posey!

Wendy Miller, SLCSD’s 2025 Special Education Teacher of the Year
In more exciting news, Wendy Miller, 7-8 grade reading teacher, received Salt Lake School District’s Special Education Teacher of the Year award. Ms. Miller not only advocates for them, but she also empowers her students by fostering their self-advocacy skills. Ms. Miller equips her students so they can navigate their future with confidence. Ms. Miller's approach is characterized by her steadfast commitment to building meaningful relationships, not only with her students but also with their families. Congratulations, Ms. Miller!
