The School Community Council is a body of parents, guardians, administrators, teachers and staff that meet once a month to review school policies and to brainstorm ideas to motivate students to do their best at Northwest. To be a member of the School Community Council, you must have a student that is attending the 2025-2026 school year.

Meetings are held the third Wednesday of each month in the Family Center at Northwest.

All parents are welcome to attend meetings.

El Comité Comunitario Escolar está formado por padres, tutores, administradores, maestros y personal que se reúne una vez al mes para revisar las normas escolares y generar ideas para motivar a los estudiantes a progresar en Northwest. Para ser miembro del Comité Comunitario Escolar debe tener un estudiante que asiste durante el año escolar 2025-2026.

Las reuniones són cada tercero miércoles del mes, en el Centro Familiar de Northwest.

A New Responsibility for School Community Councils
Summary of Responsibilities

The intent of HB 213 Safe Technology Utilization and Digital Citizenship in Public Schools is to involve school community councils in an on-going discussion (at least annually) about creating a safe technology environment for students in public schools. As with other responsibilities of school community councils, it is intended that administrators, staff and parents engage together to bring about the best possible result for students.

Resumen de responsabilidades

La intención de la Utilización Segura de la Tecnología HB 213 y el Comportamiento Digital en las escuelas públicas es de involucrar e invitar a los Comités Comunitarios Escolares en una conversación continua (al menos una vez al año) sobre la creación de un entorno tecnológico seguro para los estudiantes de las escuelas públicas. Al igual que con otras responsabilidades del Comité Comunitario Escolar, se pretende que los administradores, el personal y los padres participen juntos para lograr el mejor resultado posible para los estudiantes.
