Adam Harmstead

About Me

Sweat stinging his eyes as he gazed down from the summit of Mt. Olympus, Adam Harmstead decided one summer day that he wanted to live in Utah permanently.  Mr Harmstead is originally from the non-snowy city of San Diego.  He got tired of the fact that Southern California only has one season.  He has worked in a variety of different middle and high schools in California and Utah since 2006, and he has finally settled in Salt Lake City.

Mr. Harmstead received his B.A. in Film Studies with a minor in English from University of California, Santa Barbara in 2002.  After working in elementary schools as a special education aide for two years, he combined his passion for writing and his love for education and went to California State Northridge, where he earned his Secondary Teaching Credential in English in 2007.

When he is not teaching, Mr. Harmstead enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, hiking in the Wasatch Mountains, playing bass guitar, and reading.  He plans on hiking up all of the highest peaks near Salt Lake City, and eventually taking some trips out to the Uinta Mountains and the canyons of southern Utah.  He lost a new pair of sunglasses on Mt. Olympus; you can have them if you find them.
